Paycocke's - 25 West Street

Marvel at the stunning woodcarving and elaborate panelling inside this merchant's house.

Built around 1500 for Thomas Paycocke, the house is a grand example of the wealth generated by the cloth trade in the 16th century. Outside, there is a beautiful and tranquil cottage garden. Note: nearest toilet at Grange Barn.

Opening times

 

Paycocke's will open on Sunday 1st April, then Wednesday to Sunday from the 4th April until 4th November 2012.

Opening times are 11.00am to 5.00pm.

 

There are also new admission prices for visitors that are not members of the National Trust.
